What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to the very first edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Value is mainly determined by two things; injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.
If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Damyean Dotson $4200:
Dotson received the spot start when news came out that Garland was ruled out. With Garland out again we should see Dotson start in a rematch against the Magic. He played 29 minutes and saw a 19% usage rate, which was a season-high. This increase and minutes and usage rate makes him a great value play tonight. If this game didn’t blowout, he was on pace for close to 35 minutes. So, if the Cavs can keep the game close today look for 7x from him. The projections portal at DFSkarma.com has Dotson projected for 20 fantasy points on 30 minutes, with a ceiling of 30. I can see him reaching his ceiling tonight.
Patrick Williams $4300:
Williams is the Bulls the number 4 overall pick in the draft this year. He has shown flashes of stardom this season already and gets an amazing matchup against the Kings tonight. I love this Kings Bulls game tonight; the Kings aren’t able to control the pace. They play to the pace of their opponents’; the Bulls play at the highest pace in the league so we should see a ton of possessions in the game. He is a great way to get some cheap exposure to the late game.
Patrick Beverly $4000:
I am expecting Kawhi to sit tonight. Meaning there could be a lot of value opening up in this game. Vegas only has this game as a 1.5 spread so that really makes me more confident that he will sit. The Warriors play at one of the highest paces in the league so this could also be an extremely high-scoring game tonight. Beverly has always been a player that has the chance for a very high ceiling. He was extremely vital in the Warriors playoff series two years ago guarding Durant. He loves going up against this warrior’s team. Outside of the blowout loss to the Mavs he has had at least 20 DK points when either Kawhi or PG have missed a game this season. He averaged 25 DK points without PG last season and 29 DK points without Kawhi last season as well. Compared to only 22 DK points with them playing. They require his boast in scoring to help them stay in games. This will be more prevalent this season without Harrell.
