What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to another edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Always remember that the value on DraftKings is not always the value on FanDuel, or any other site you are playing on. If you haven’t signed up for core plays yet, make sure to do so by clicking here. We have daily, weekly, monthly, and season-long packages. You can try us out for as little as $5!
Value is mainly determined by two things: injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury news. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price, and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.
If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will be times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Whether it is on the free side or the premium side there will always be people discussing injury news and how it has impacted the slate.
Also, make sure to check out our live odds on BetKarma to stay up to date on how Vegas is projecting these games.
All plays are under $5000!
Markieff Morris $3,400:
Morris still hasn’t seen a price jump since dominating the last two games relative to his salary. He has put up 25+ DK points in two straight games. The Lakers will be without Lebron James, on top of already missing Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol. Morris is going to be one of the only big men tonight for the Lakers so he will need to play another game of 30+ minutes. His rebounding a scoring presence will be a key part of his value tonight as he will be filling a much-needed role for the Lakers.
He gets an easy matchup on top of his usage and minutes boost against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings low to play up and down basketball as showcased by ranking 8th in pace and last in defensive rating this season. The 118.7 defensive rating is on pace to beat the record as the worst defense in NBA history previously held by the 2018-2019 Cleveland Cavaliers.
The projections portal is showing Markieff Morris as the second-best value play under $5000 on the slate and projected for 25.10 fantasy points.
Justin Patton $4,000:
Justin Patton is another big man filling a much needed role for their team. Since losing Wood to injury and Cousins getting waived, the Rockets needed to find their replacement. The former first-round pick had never played more than 11 minutes of game time in his career but will be looking at his third straight start. In his small sample size, he is averaging 8.0 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.0 Blocks, and 1.5 steals per game on 29 minutes. These have been impressive numbers from a player who had rarely seen the floor in the previous season.
Tonight, he gets the mecca of NBA DFS matchups; Centers vs the Nets. It seems like every year for the past couple of years it has always been the same thing; attack the Nets with Centers. This season seemed to slow down that production but the Nets are still allowing the 6th most DK points to centers on the season. They also rank 25th in defensive rating and 8th in pace. This should be another up and down game just like the Lakers game should be. I am starting out most of my lines with Morris and Patton.
The projections portal is showing Justin Patton as a great value play under $5000 on the slate and projected for 20.90 fantasy points.
