What’s up Karma Nation! Welcome to another edition of my Value Plays article. In this article, I will be focusing solely on DraftKings. Always remember that the value on DraftKings is not always the value on FanDuel, or any other site you are playing on. If you haven’t signed up for core plays yet, make sure to do so by clicking here. We have daily, weekly, monthly, and season-long packages. You can try us out for as little as $5!
Value is mainly determined by two things: injury news or lazy pricing. A player could be underpriced because salaries came before injury news. A site can also be lazy and not raise the price of a player who has been playing way above their price, and getting the minutes to prove it’s sustainable.
If you are familiar with NBA DFS you know the best value could open up minutes before the slate locks. So, make sure to check back later in the day, the best value plays for the slate may change depending on if we get injury news we were not expecting or that we were waiting for all day. I will be providing an update at the bottom of the article if there is a need for it. There will be times we receive news less than an hour before lock, that is where it is vital to join our discord for free. Whether it is on the free side or the premium side there will always be people discussing injury news and how it has impacted the slate.
Markieff Morris $3,000:
Bales and I touched on Morris on the live stream. I think I am starting to like him more and more now that I breakdown the slate more. He is the much-needed bottom of the barrel value on a slate that really doesn’t have any value under $4000 pending the Heat injury news. Everyone always floods to Kyle Kuzma when Anthony Davis is out but we don’t want to deal with that heartbreak again. right? Even though I am sure he is going to be chalk on such a small slate. Why not pivot to a guy at min price?
Morris has shown flashes of success with Anthony Davis out this season. He has over 20 DK points in both games he played this season. He even sat early in the blowout win against Minnesota. Morris goes from averaging 9.86 DK points per game to 20.25 DK points per game. He sees a 10-minute bump while keeping a similar DK point per minute. His PPG, RPG, and FGAs per game all nearly double as well. This is basically a case of more minutes equals more fantasy points.
The projections portal is showing Markieff Morris as a bad value play on the slate and projected for 8.22 fantasy points. He is currently only projected for 11 minutes that should be much higher. So whatever minutes you have him projected at he will score a little under that.
James Wiseman $4,900:
Wiseman has had his ups and downs this season, mainly see downs due to foul trouble. Wiseman has been extremely minutes, correlated with foul trouble, dependent. In the 11 games where he saw 20+ minutes, he hit value in all but eight of those games. He was also about to reach GPP value in six of those games. He has yet to reach value in games he played in fewer than 20 minutes. Which is an obvious statement. During four of those seven games, he played fewer minutes due to foul trouble. He now gets an easy matchup against DeAndre Ayton inside tonight. He has a great chance to hit value once more as long as he stays out of foul trouble.
The projections portal is showing James Wiseman as a great value play on the slate and projected for 22.10 fantasy points.
Anfernee Simons $4,200:
Check out Bales’ Top GPP article for a write up on Simons. He touches on all the best points and is a great value play on this slate.
The projections portal is showing Anfernee Simons as a great value play on the slate and projected for 17.62 fantasy points.
