What’s up grinders and welcome back to another addition of my Monkey Knife Fight plays article.
We have round 2 of our NBA playoffs competition that starts today! If you missed last weekend you can still get in on action as we are giving away $250 every weekend and $1000 to the overall winner. Click HERE for full details and to enter it!! I’ll see everyone at the top of the leaderboards.
Article Recap:
Kevin Durant: 2/3 were correct. He went over for fantasy prop and scoring prop but bubbled for assists. He ended up with 5 for a 5.5 assist prop.
Lou Williams: 1/2 were correct. He went over for assists but flopped for scoring. He went 3/21 shooting and only 8 points. If Lou was able to score at usual this game might have had a different outcome.
Thoughts on Game Theory
Spurs@Nuggets: We have the last game of the first round of the playoffs. I had a feeling this game would go deep. Both teams play amazing at home but have a less than favorable road record. This leads me to believe the Nuggets will take care of business at home. The pace has been as high as 95 and as low as 89 which has been the slowest series of the playoffs. With the game total falling. If Jamal Murray comes alive here at home where he has played better than this will turn into a blowout.
Game Total: 208.5 with the Nuggets as a 6 point favorite. (I’m siding with the under and a Nuggets win and cover)
76ers@Raptors: Here marks the the beginning of round 2 of these exciting playoffs. The Raptors had a scare game 1 but then took care of business the next 4 games 3 of those games winning by 19+ points. The Raptors are playing at the top of their games with the addition of Marc Gasol who had 84 defensive rating throughout the 4 wins as been the reason for each victory by shutting down All Star Nikola Vucevic. If Gasol is about to do that again this series the Raptors will make short work of the 76ers.
Game Total: 224.5 with the Raptors a 6.5 point favorite.
Favorite Plays
Joel Embiid UNDER 25.5 scoring prop: This is a play I think will be unpopular but it seems amazing to me. Gasol like I mentioned earlier has been playing amazing defense against the Magic, who has what is probably the 2nd best offensive center in the league and probably the 4th best in the league behind KAT and Davis. I know Embiid is another animal and a huge leap from Vuc, but the way Gasol completely shut him down that means he should slow down Embiid. Embiid is dealing with Knee Tendinitis which will allow him to play through it but has been slowing himm down and not allowing him to play full minutes. In amazing matchups vs the Nets he only went over this mark once in 4 games.
Nikola Jokic OVER 21.5 points: I could actually see him play close to 48 minutes here as long as the game is close. Malone said he “might need to play Jokic 48 minutes because whenever we take him out it seems like the Spurs go on a run” “We have to hold our breath and hope we can hold on until we get him back in the game”. In an Elimination game at home Jokic should come out to play. Jokic is averaging 22 PPG this series after taking out the two outliers.
