Guards

Colbey Ross (Pepperdine) vs. California

Colbey Ross has been incredible for Pepperdine so far this year.  He is leading the team in in usage rate at 26% and is the top scorer as well, averaging 20 ppg. They will be taking on Cal tonight who are struggling on defense, and will struggle with an elite guard like Ross. Ross is able to contribute across multiple categories making him a very solid play at his price. Pepperdine ranks middle of the pack on tonight’s slate in terms of Implied team total, however Ross’s skill set will present this Cal team with a lot of challenges. I think Pepperdine wins this game on the back of a big performance from Ross

Michael Devoe (Georgia Tech) vs. Nebraska

Devoe is just priced too low. Devoe is a very gifted player that Georgia Tech likes to turn to for offensive production. There is no denying that Devoe has gotten off to a slow start compared to what we have seen in the past, however we know how good of a shooter and scorer he is and he should return to form sooner rather than later. Devoe is only shooting 34% from the field this season and only 26% from 3. He is a career 45% shooter from the field and 41% shooter from 3. I look for Devoe to get back to form, and should have a good chance to do so tonight in an up-tempo game vs. Nebraska.

Paul Scruggs (Xavier) vs. Oklahoma

Scruggs, unlike Devoe, has gotten off to a tremendous start to his season.  Scruggs is averaging 14ppg, 7apg and 4rpg while shooting 46% from the field.  Scruggs has shown the ability to be a very effective 3pt shooter in the past shooting 38% from three for his career, but has struggled there this year only shooting 20%.  Oklahoma is one of the fastest paced teams in the country, so he finds himself in an up-tempo matchup.  Scruggs has proven to have a 40+ point ceiling, and this is an environment in which we could see a ceiling game from Scruggs.

Scottie Barnes (Florida State) vs. Indiana

I’m not quite sure why Barnes is coming in at a price near 5k, but I want to jump on that now before his price shoots up.  Barnes is an extremely talented true freshman for FSU who played 24 minutes in the opener.  In those 24 minutes he accumulated 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assist.  Barnes also had 11 FGA in the first game vs. North Florida.  I expect Barnes will draw the start again for FSU tonight vs. Indiana, and with a more competitive game on tap, he should be able to easily hit value at only a $5,300 price tag.

Others to consider:  T. McGowens (NEB); A. Reaves (OU); K. McDowell (LIB); X. Johnson (PITT); J. Alvarado (GT); MJ Walker (FSU); C. Audige (NW)

Forwards

Brady Manek (Oklahoma) vs. Xavier

Manek and Reaves have been the top two offensive threats for this Oklahoma team this year, and will continue to be.  Manek has averaged 22 ppg and 6 rpg this season, while also averaging 2 blocks per game.  Manek has a 28% usage rate and is playing 30 minutes per game. Manek is someone I really like tonight, especially since this Oklahoma team has the 3rd highest team implied total on the slate.

Moses Wright (Georgia Tech) vs. Nebraska

Moses Wright has had about as strong of a start to a season that anyone could have expected from this yellowjacket.  He is averaging 24ppg, 10.7rpg, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocked shots per game. He is contributing in so many areas for this Georgia Tech team and that is shown by his 24% usage rate.  Wright is in a really good spot to produce tonight, and although he is one of the highest priced players on the slate, he carries one of the highest ceilings of any player tonight. I really like getting a few pieces from this game tonight.

Others to consider: Z. Freemantle (XAV); K. Edwards (Pepp); A. Toney (PITT); M. Kopp (NW); T. Jackson-Davis (IND); L. Mayen (NEB); P. Nance (NW)
