Guards

Michael Devoe (Georgia Tech) vs. UNC

Devoe is a very talented perimeter player for this Yellowjacket team, and will get a chance to face a UNC team that really struggles guarding opposing teams backcourts.  He is priced way to cheap tonight and will be one of the main pieces to my lineup.  Devoe is a career 40% 3pt shooter, and while he has yet to get to that number this year, he has shot the ball much better over his last few games.  He has a great opportunity to find open shots vs. this UNC defense tonight and when his shot is falling he can fill it up fast!

Dwon Odom (Xavier) vs. Seton Hall

Odom appears poised to make his return to the starting lineup tonight, after missing the last two games due to Covid.  He is someone who really thrives on the defensive end of the court, and is an adequate scorer and rebounder.  Before missing the last two games, he was averaging 25 minutes per game.  Odom is priced at $4300 tonight, making him a very solid value play.

Tyrese Martin (UConn) vs. DePaul

Martin joined the starting five in UConn’s matchup vs. USC, and has played really well in his role since entering the starting lineup.  While he is not scoring a ton of points, only 6.3 per game so far, he is averaging nearly 10 rebounds per game.  He has a chance to find more scoring success vs. a poor DePaul defense.  UConn has the highest projected team total on the slate tonight, making them a nice target, especially with how fast DePaul likes to push the pace.

Paul Scruggs (Xavier) vs. Seton Hall

Scruggs is second on the team in usage rate, only behind Freemantle, and is playing near 35 minutes per game.  Seton Hall will have its hands full trying to slow down this Xavier offense, especially with talents like Scruggs and Freemantle.  Scruggs has shown a very good ability to distribute the ball to open shooters, averaging 6.7 assist per game.  He also has a very good offensive game averaging 15.8 points per game.  The three top guards tonight are all in very nice spots and are all viable in all formats (Moore, Bouknight and Scruggs).

Bryce Aiken (SHU) – Played 22 minutes in their last game scoring 4 points along with 6 assist and a rebound.   As long as we hear he has had no setbacks, and appears to be in line to play again tonight, he is really good value.***

Others to consider: C. Love (UNC); J. Bouknight (UCONN); C. Moore (DePaul); J. Alvarado (GT); M. Moody (ARK); S. Wheeler (UGA); JD Notae (ARK); A. Franklin (IU); V. Bailey Jr. (TENN); T. Wertz (ND); D. Odom (XAV)

Forwards

Zach Freemantle (Xavier) vs. Seton Hall

Freemantle has been nothing short of phenomenal to start this season.  Freemantle is shooting nearly 60% from the field and over 40% from 3pt range.  He leads this Xavier team in shot attempts, and usage.  I expect Freemantle to be extremely involved in the game plan tonight.  Freemantle got himself into some foul trouble last time out, limiting him to only 23 minutes of action.  If he can stay out of foul trouble he should see well over 30 minutes tonight and has a good chance to reach 5x his salary.

Garrison Brooks (UNC) vs. Georgia Tech

I keep waiting for the Garrison Brooks of 2019 to show up, and every game leaves me more and more disappointed.   For years and years, UNC wanted to run everything from the inside/out, but now it appears that Roy is going to keep letting his guards (Love and Davis) throw up shots from the outside with little to no success.  Brooks is only averaging around 9 FGA per game, that number should be at 14 or more.  I expect Roy to go back to the formula that should make this UNC team more successful.  Pound the rock inside to your talented bigs and let them do work vs. inferior front courts (which is what they will see tonight).  I think Brooks is about to be big time in conference play, and we get him at a price that we will not see him at very long.  Speaking of Love, as much as he has thrown this offense off with his horrendous shot selection, he is priced way to low for a player of his caliber.

Nick Ongenda (DePaul) vs. UConn

Ongenda has drawn the start for each of DePaul’s first two games, even with the return of Romeo Weems.  It will be interesting to see if he sticks in the starting lineup tonight or if he gives way to Weems.  Whether he starts or not, he should still see over 20 minutes of action tonight.  He only played 19 minutes in their last game due to early foul trouble, but if he can stay out of foul trouble, his combination of rebounding ability combined with his shot blocking ability gives him a very solid floor and nice ceiling at his price of $4300.

Others to consider:  Armando Bacot (UNC); Romeo Weems (DePaul); M. Wright (GT); T. Jackson-Davis (IU); Jaylin Williams (AUB); J. Smith (ARK); D. Sharpe (UNC); S. Hauser (UVA); S. Mamukelashvili (SHU)
