Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (3/27/19)

Weak slate today and I’m fairly busy preparing for MLB tomorrow so I’m going to keep this article short.  Fantastic season everyone!!!!!

My core continues to be on fire so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop and asking any questions you have in Discord tonight to fill out the rest of your lineup. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Rajon Rondo: With LeBron out tonight it is going to be the Rondo show as he is the best available player in this lineup who also is projected for heavy minutes.  We saw what his upside could be with a 60 DK point game and a triple-double a couple weeks ago.  This is the type of ceiling I’m going to be looking for from a mid-tier option on a very short slate.  Obviously, Rondo will not be 2% owned but again ownership in NBA DFS does not carry much weight in my decisions (completely different for MLB which I’m pumped about – more strategy).
  2. Other Options: Ricky Rubio, Shaq Harrison, Tyler Dorsey

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Bojan Bogdanovic: Ceiling is what we’re focusing on tonight and Bojan brings that to the table with his scoring upside.  Priced fairly for what his production has been in the increased role on this team, he makes for a fantastic play in GPPs where this is a huge pace up spot for the Pacers.  There are multiple pieces from this game I’m on for this reason (Myles Turner), and I think this game will end up the second highest on the slate behind the obvious Wizards/Suns game.
  2. Other Options: Devin Booker, Wayne Selden (Lock?)

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Rodney Hood: If looking for some value, shots are going to open up on the Blazers with Nurkic gone.  Obviously this is a smash spot for Enes Kanter in an increased role, but other value pieces from the Blazers should benefit as well.  Hood is priced at 3.9k giving him an obvious ceiling against a Bulls team that is terrible on defense.  Hood is a very risky play but one that could pay off big in GPPs at extremely low ownership.
  2. Other Options: Lance Stephenson, Maurice Harkless, Kevin Durant

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Kyle Kuzma: With all the attention on Bryant/Green at this position, I love the idea of playing Kuzma who obviously has a massive scoring ceiling.  He’s been shooting poorly the past month or so but the stress of making the playoffs is gone and Kuzma should have a green light with LeBron out.  I wish the price was in the 6.2-6.4k range but I’m willing to pay the premium tonight where Kuzma has the upside to break the slate.
  2. Other Options: Thomas Bryant (Chalk), Draymond Green, Dragan Bender (punt)

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. DeAndre Ayton:  With everyone locking in Booker tonight, Ayton is going to go completely overlooked.  Ayton has quietly had a great season for the Suns as a rookie and now gets a matchup with a center he has 2-3 inches on.  Ayton should be able to dominate this matchup offensively and the 50 DK point ceiling is there.  You’ll likely need exposure to this game to win tonight and with everyone locking in Bryant/Booker, Ayton could end up being the leverage key on this slate.
  2. Other Options: Enes Kanter (Chalk), Rudy Gobert, Myles Turner
