Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (3/25/19)

Another terrible slate today.  Keep your bankroll exposure light.  MLB is this Thursday!

My core continues to be on fire so make sure to check that out tonight by purchasing the NBA Core Plays package at dfskarma.com/shop and asking any questions you have in Discord tonight to fill out the rest of your lineup. Make sure as usual to leverage some of my TOP GPP options with a core of chalkier plays. Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays. This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned, and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.  I emphasize upside/leverage over ownership, particularly in NBA DFS.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Tyler Dorsey: Keep a close eye on the Conley news but I’m likely going to be on Dorsey either way.  If Conley is out he becomes a lock.  Ownership is going to be all in on Westbrook here and he is someone you likely want to get in your lineups for a raw points ceiling on a four-game slate.  However, Dorsey has shown he has a ceiling and below 4k seeing significant minutes for the Grizzlies with or without Conley playing, he is a top GPP option.
  2. Other Options Include (ownership not considered): Westbrook, Conley (questionable), Rubio, Schroder

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Seth Curry: Another punt play for GPP today as I think this is where the slate will be won.  I want exposure to these guys that have a ceiling at there price point with the capability of putting up an 8x+ game at there price.  Curry is ranked #3 in the NBA in 3PT% and obviously is getting a big role expansion with CJ McCollum down.  The Nets have been playing at an extremely high pace and create a 3-PT shootout environment that Curry could thrive in.  He’s a volatile option as a lot of his upside is in his shot %, but considering he’s been one of the best in the NBA, I have faith.
  2. Other Options Include: Evan Fournier, D’Angelo Russell, Terrance Ross

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Aaron Gordon: The optimal way to go tonight is to pay up for two centers.  The rest of the slate are filled with sub-optimal plays which is why I am trying to use those positions for value slots.  Gordon is one of the few guys outside of center I’m considering for GPP at SF/PF.  He’s priced at 7k and is getting an up-pace matchup with the Sixers.  These are games that matter for the Magic so I expect heavy minutes out of Gordon which obviously given his play-style gives him a nice ceiling.  He will go under-owned in GPPs behind guys like Ben Simmons and Paul George.
  2. Other Options Include: Maurice Harkless, Chandler Parsons, DeMarre Carroll

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Rodonis Kurucs: Kurucs is a player not many people know about, at least the casual NBA fan.  Kurucs has been a spark for the Brooklyn Nets and one of the main reasons they are slated to make the playoffs on what was originally considered a season to tank for Zion.  Kurucs is extremely active on the defensive end causing turnovers and leading fast-breaks off of steals.  He’s a stretch forward that can shoot and rebound.  3.9k is underpriced for a player of his profile projected for around 25 minutes tonight.  Atkinson usually sticks with who is hot and if Rodi comes out strong, it would not be surprising to see him play over 30 minutes tonight.  He’s got a fantastic ceiling and is projected for single digit ownership on a 4 game slate.
  2. Other Options Include: Derrick Favors, Dragan Bender, Jerami Grant

Center

Top GPP Plays:

Once again center is absolutely stacked on this slate forcing our hand to get at least two into our lineups tonight.  Below are five options ranked in order, that I don’t think you can go wrong with.  Make sure to role out a dual-center roster construction on Draftkings tonight.  It will be crucial to cashing.

  1. Jusuf Nurkic
  2. Jonas Valanciunus
  3. Enes Kanter (Nurkic leverage if you fade)
  4. Nikola Vucevic (Wouldn’t play both him and Gordon)
  5. Rudy Gobert (No one ever likes to play him)
