Bobby’s NBA GPP Breakdown (12/23/18)

If you’re playing NBA tonight there is actually a pretty solid main slate that starts at 6pm.  Let’s get it. It should be really good! Let’s get into my top GPP plays for this slate.   You can access my CORE GPP Plays by signing up for an NBA package at dfskarma.com!

AS NBA is a game where last-minute real-life changes are made before tipoff, always monitor breaking news up to last second!

The plays below in this daily article are low owned pivots and GPP plays.  This means that these players will be RELATIVELY low owned and ‘contrarian’ relative to the more highly owned, chalky plays of the night.

BALL IN!

Point Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Damian Lillard: I love the pace the Dallas Mavericks are playing at this season and while this game doesn’t have a massive over/under, the Blazers are implied to score over 110 points tonight.  Damian Lillard is in the top 5 PG’s on the slate in fantasy production per minute and is projected to see 35+ tonight in one of the best matchups on the board.  His price on Draftkings is extremely friendly tonight.
  2. DJ Augustin: Its basically between DJ and Arcidiacono at this price point but this is an easy decision for me in my contests if I’m looking for value at the PG position.  Augustin provides solid FP/min scoring while seeing similair minutes but a 30% higher usage rate than Ryan.  This is a FANTASTIC matchup against the Heat backcourt that doesn’t do much in terms of defense.  If Augustin can hit his three’s he’ll crush value.

Shooting Guard

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Wesley Matthews: DSJ is out and Doncic is questionable with a hip injury.  Dirk has also already been ruled out.  This price is insane for Matthews on Draftkings who will likely become the chalk if Doncic sits along with JJ Barrea.  Even if Doncic is in, with DSJ we should see a bump in usage for Matthews in a positive matchup against his former team.
  2. Jordan Clarkson: No one is going to be comfortable paying this price for Clarkson on Draftkings but we can’t ignore what he’s been able to do and how high a usage player he is when on the floor.  Clarkson has posted back to back games with more than 32 minutes and has consistently posted a usage rate around 30% when on the court this season.  If he can hit the 30/30 mark tonight (minutes/usage) he’ll destroy his price tag and possesses a sky-high ceiling.

Small Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Cedi Osman: Osman got into foul trouble early in his last game in which he was originally playing extremely well.  Due to his limited time on the floor due to this foul trouble we’re getting a nice discount on his price which is now down to 4k.  Osman plays over 35 MPG and is getting a pace up matchup against an equally terrible squad in the Bulls so we should expect this game to stay close throughout.  The total is LOW on this game which is going to scare a lot of people off but these prices make up for it.  (I have OVER 201 in this game as well).
  2. Kyle Anderson: Similair to the other night where the Grizzlies and the Kings matched up, this game against the Lakers is a MASSIVE pace up spot for the Grizzlies and Anderson continues to be underpriced in these situations.  Lock him in tonight where he should cruise to 5x with realistic 7x expectations.

Power Forward

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Anthony Davis: Duh.  Not going to need to put out a lot of insight behind this play.  Power forward is a position you HAVE to pay up for tonight and it’s really easy to do so.  Anthony Davis is going to be unstoppable in this matchup and I don’t care what his price tag is, I want those raw points.
  2. Draymond Green: Green is very cheap on Draftkings considering his chances for a double double or even a triple-double in this game.  If you don’t have exposure to some dubs tonight I believe it will be difficult to win given their reasonable price points and implied total over 122 points.  Green is going to contribute to all categories tonight and is a LOCK for 35 DK points.  I think he goes for over 50.

Center

Top GPP Plays:

  1. Jarrett Allen: If you know the Suns you know they don’t play any defense.  DeAndre Ayton is a terrible defender.  The 2nd year pro and the rookie will be going to head to head in a battle I really believe Allen will win.  He’s a bit underpriced on Draftkings as well where he has upside for 40+ DK points if he can hit that double-double.
  2. Jonas Jerebko: If you’re looking for a value play at PF/C Jerebko is your guy.  He’s not going to play a TON of minutes for the Warriors but should see somewhere in the range of 22-25.  He has a solid usage rate for a big man on a star-studded team and doens’t need to do a lot to post a significant GPP score.  I’ll likely have Jerebko paired with one of the four starters.
