- One of the first things I identified about this slate is that there is not a ton of clear value outside of 2-4 players. The absolute lock of the slate for me is JaVale McGee. He’s going to be chalky on the 10-game slate with Anthony Davis most likely sitting tonight. At his current price, he cannot be passed up on the center position with so many limited options to turn to for value tonight.
- A current player projecting for low-ownership is my second favorite value of the slate and will be fit into a lot of my single entry/3-max lineups. That is Damion Lee of the Warriors at 5.3k. Lee is projecting for over 30 minutes with a usage rate over 20%. Two indicators that a price point at 5.3k is completely appropriate for Lee who can easily go for 6x+ in this game.
- My favorite “top-spend” on the slate has to be the goat, Luka Doncic. Luka continues his case for MVP and just is incredible in all aspects of fantasy production. A nearly 40% projected usage rate combined with minutes over 36 and it’s just completely justified paying over 12k for him on this slate. The 12.6k tag is going to keep ownership down on him and I wouldn’t be concerned. He could easily score 80 Draftkings points tonight at home against the AD-less Lakers.
- This is a slate where value is going to be hard to come by so make sure you are selecting players that have a high ceiling. If you find a low-tier/mid-tier value that is becoming uber-chalk I suggest a fade. A guy like JaVale is not that type of player where he has historically been very efficient in his fantasy minutes. Just a heads up to keep an eye out tonight as players will be desperate for value and a consensus could easily be established based off of community bias.
