Power Play
John Collins will be the focal point of the offense once again with Trae Young out tonight. In his last game without Young, Collins saw 26 shot attempts, 6 three-point attempts, and 4 free throw attempts. Overall, he scored 34 points with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 steal (56.6 fantasy points). He has scored 50+ fantasy points in 2 of his 3 games since returning from injury, as well. Collins gets a tough matchup against the Orlando Magic, who love slowing the pace down in their games. With that being said, Collins isn’t a player that will likely lose value, as he’ll be touching the ball nearly every possession. His role in the offense and ability to contribute in each of the five categories makes this total too low, even in a tough matchup.
Carmelo Anthony has cooled down a bit recently. He’s averaging 13.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, and 1.0 block (25.1 fantasy points) in 29.2 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He played only nine minutes in one of those games, though. Excluding that game, Anthony has played 30+ minutes in each of his last 6 games, and he’s averaging 34.7 fantasy points per game over that span. He gets a plus against the Phoenix Suns, who have struggled defensively while pushing the pace this season. Anthony is likely to see minutes in the mid- to high-30s tonight, and his scoring should be on full display. He’s a player that comes with tremendous upside, but this total represents his recent struggles.
