Power Play
Ja Morant has been ruled out tonight, leaving Tyus Jones to take over as the Memphis Grizzlies point guard. The latter played 25 minutes in his last game, scoring 12 points with 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal (31.3 fantasy points). Jones has played 25+ minutes in 3 games this season, scoring 28+ fantasy points in each of those games. He has looked outstanding when given the court time, although he has been inconsistent while seeing minutes in the teens for the majority of the season. Jones will likely see 25+ minutes once again tonight, and the offense will run through him. While he does come with some risk, this total is a bit low for how well he has played in extended time throughout his career.
Richaun Holmes has seen inconsistent minutes throughout the season. He has played 34+ minutes in 3 of his last 6 games, averaging 41.5 fantasy points per game in those contests. It’s much more likely that he sees minutes in the mid- to high-20s than the mid- to high-30s tonight, though. With that being said, Holmes is averaging 1.02 fantasy points per minute this season. He also gets an elite matchup against the Chicago Bulls, who feature one of the worst defenses in the NBA against bigs this season. Holmes could be a bit more efficient than normal tonight. If he controls his fouls and finds 30+ minutes, he’s a near lock to hit the over. He could still score 30+ fantasy points in limited minutes, as well, though.
