Power Play
Derrick Rose is coming off of a 44.7 fantasy point performance. Bruce Brown wasn’t active for that game, though, forcing Rose into 30 minutes. Brown, Tim Frazier, and Reggie Jackson are all expected to play tonight, potentially limiting Rose’s minutes. While he boasts an outstanding usage rating off of the bench, Rose could struggle to hit this total if he’s only finding minutes in the mid- to high-20s. He has posted 38+ fantasy points in only 3 of his last 8 games, as well. Rose gets a plus matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, but this total doesn’t take his potential new role into account. It’s a bit high for a healthier Detroit roster.
Kemba Walker will see a larger role in the offense with Jayson Tatum out, while Jaylen Brown is questionable tonight. He has struggled a bit recently, averaging 20.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.0 block, and 1.0 steal (35.6 fantasy points) in 30.5 minutes per game over the last 10 days. He has scored fewer than 40 fantasy points in 7 of 8 games since returning from injury. Even with the large workload, Walker is in a tough spot tonight. He gets a matchup against the Orlando Magic, who rank 28th in the NBA in pace and seventh in defensive rating. This total is high because of injuries, but Walker could struggle to produce in this particular matchup.
