C.J. McCollum continues to be the offensive focal point with Damian Lillard injured. He’s averaging 32.0 points in 39.2 minutes per game without Lillard. He’s averaging 25.3 shot attempts, 10.3 three-point attempts, and 6.0 free throw attempts in those games. McCollum posted 27+ points in each of those 3 games, as well. He gets a tough matchup against the Indiana Pacers, who rank 25th in the NBA in pace and eighth in defensive rating. With that being said, McCollum recently posted 28 points against a dominant Boston Celtics defense. He posted 28 points against Indiana in their only matchup this season, and he’ll see a larger role in tonight’s game.
Malcolm Brogdon possesses a large role in the Indiana offense, but he has struggled in terms of assists in recent games. He’s averaging 6.2 assists in 32.1 minutes per game over his last 9 games. Over that span, he posted 8+ assists twice. Brogdon’s assist rate also drops slightly at home. He gets a plus matchup against the Portland Blazers, though. They rank 11th in the NBA in pace and 27th in defensive rating. Still, Brogdon is losing touches to Victor Oladipo, who will return to the rotation tonight. This total is set a bit high for Brogdon’s recent struggles.
