Over Under 2/2 – Golden State Warriors/Atlanta Hawks
Trae Young is the focal point of the Atlanta Hawks offense. He boasts a 34.4% usage rating in 2019. He has also caught fire over his last 5 games, as he’s averaging 36.4 points per game over that span. Young is averaging 23.8 shot attempts, 10.6 three-point attempts, and 7.8 free throw attempts per game in those contests. Most importantly, he has scored 29+ points in each of those games. Young gets a matchup against the Golden State Warriors, who rank 27th in the NBA in defensive rating this season. This game isn’t overly likely to turn into a blowout, leaving Young to play minutes in the high-30s or low-40s.
Alec Burks has been locked into big minutes for Golden State. He’s averaging 34.0 minutes per game over the last 10 days. In those games, he’s also averaging 16.2 points per game. Most importantly, he’s only shooting 37.3% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc, and 76.9% from the line over that span. He gets an elite matchup against Atlanta, who ranks second last in the NBA in defensive rating. Burks should find more efficiency in this game, and he’ll continue to be featured in the Golden State offense. Burks comes with a bit more risk than Young, but he makes a strong option for the over, as he should see minutes in the mid- to high-30s in this game.
