Over Under 2/2 – Houston Rockets vs Memphis Grizzlies
Simply put, James Harden is an elite scorer. He’s shooting only 37.1% from the field and 21.5% from beyond the arc this season. Still, he’s averaging 35.3 points per game. Harden is shooting an elite 95.8% from the line this season. Harden is averaging 23.3 shot attempts, 13.2 three-point attempts, and 15.8 free throw attempts per game this season. He has shot 50%+ in only one game this season, scoring 59 points against the Washington Wizards. The Houston Rockets will be playing without Russell Westbrook tonight, and Harden could play an even larger role in the offense tonight. He gets a plus matchup against a young, fast paced Memphis Grizzlies team, and Harden’s shooting woes won’t continue for long.
Jonas Valanciunas’ prop is set a bit high. He has yet to score more than 16 points in a game this season. While this game will be fast paced and high scoring, Valanciunas isn’t expected to play more than minutes in the mid-20s. He’s shooting 48.9% from the field, 40% from beyond the arc, and 90.9% from the line, but still averaging only 12 points per game. Valanciunas would need to see a larger role in the offense, while playing more minutes tonight to find the over in this game. This isn’t an ideal matchup for him either, and it’s more likely that his minutes drop below 20 than increase north of 30.
