Happy Wednesday Karma Nation! AP Core 5 & the AP Playbook for tonights slate can be found below.
AP CORE 5
POINT GUARD – STEPHEN CURRY, PG/SG, 9,300 – (see comments below)
PIVOT – Mike Conley, PG, 7,800 (fine in all formats)
SHOOTING GUARD – ERIC GORDON, SG/SF, 5,100 – (see comments below)
PIVOT – Caris LeVert, PG/SF, 4,800 (GPP Value)
SMALL FORWARD – PAUL GEORGE, SF/PF, 9,600 – Much speculation has been made about Paul Georges shoulder. Until something official is announced, I’m chalking it up as pure speculation and I’m not letting it factor into my decision making. ‘What about the last two games?’ Pat Bev’s defense on PG was incredible two games ago and the Jazz have been one of the best teams at limiting wings. Despite that, PG13 still put up 41 DK points on only 8 field goal attempts. I love this matchup for George and I’ll be locking him in at a discounted price and low ownership.
PIVOT – Aaron Gordon, SF/PF, 6,700 (elite GPP target)
POWER FORWARD – PJ TUCKER, SF/PF, 3,800 – (see comments below)
PIVOT – Jabari Parker, SF/PF, 5,600 (GPP)
CENTER – DEMARCUS COUSINS, C, 7,400 – (see comments below)
PIVOT – Jonas Valanciunas, C, 6,800 (Elite GPP)
*This core leaves you with 4,933 left per position & is designed for GPPs. Historically, Curry’s numbers jump dramatically with Durant OFF the court. With Boogie in the mix, he will for sure absorb some of that usage. However, both players are priced perfectly for a mini game stack. In my opinion, the Warriors will need big numbers from these two to avoid a regular season sweep to the Rockets. This is pure speculation, but I have a feeling the Warriors will do whatever they can do shut down Harden. I think this could open things for Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker. In either scenario, both should log massive minutes tonight.
