Dean Kremer
Kremer’s struggled throughout his limited MLB innings in his career. He owns a 1-2 record with a 6.20 ERA, and a 1.66 WHIP through 6 starts. He’s also recorded a 5.10 xFIP and a 4.95 SIERA in the Majors. Kremer’s flashed strikeout potential, though, as he boasts 26.1% strikeout and 9.1% swinging-strike rates. With that being said, he’s struggled with an 8.8% barrel rate thus far. In limited starts, Kremer’s been better at home, where his xFIP dips to 4.40. He’s also found more success against right-handed batters, who he owns a 4.44 xFIP against throughout his career.
Kremer gets an elite matchup against the Texas Rangers tonight. They lead the slate in strikeouts per at-bat while ranking second-last in team wOBA. Kremer is a +126 underdog in a game set at 8.5 runs, and the Rangers boast an implied team total of 4.6 runs. If this article looks familiar, it’s because I used Jorge Lopez in the exact same spot last night. He scored 25.45 fantasy points at 0.85% ownership. Although I believe Lopez is the better pitcher right now, Kremer has more strikeout ability, and Lopez posted 8 strikeouts over 15 outs last night. Kremer makes an outstanding tournament option, similar to Lopez last night.
