Top Pitchers
Nathan Eovaldi
The top options are pretty obvious for this 5 game slate. Eovaldi checks in as the top play for me. Sporting a 37% striekout rate against Oakland (46 PA), Nathan has fantastic history here. Yes, this is matchup based but Eovaldi is also having a pretty solid year as well. I really like his five pitch mix and think he should be keeping the A’s bats guessing all night. Eovaldi has a ground ball rate of nearly 53% and a flyball rate of 21.3% so if he isn’t striking them out, odds are they are grounding or flying out. This won’t be a secret at all as he should be 30% owned or higher but we can get unique with batters.
Logan Webb
This one is more matchup based as Webb faces the Rockies in Oracle Park which is a very pitcher friendly ballpark. The Rockies rank 28th in strike outs per game (9.49) and have not been good on the road. Webb has flashed 10+ strike out upside this season already and I really wouldn’t be surprised if we see it tonight. Webb sports a 3.8% walk rate along with a strike out rate of 23.5% along iwth an xwOBA of .298. Colorado also only has 2 batters rocking hard contact over 40%. Overall a very solid play in all contests!
Building Blocks
Brandon Drury
This is a really spot today For Drury and Co. against Giolito. I wanted to highlight a somehwat cheaper player as we are double spending on pitcher. Giolito mianly throws a 4 seamer, slider and changeup which just happen to be three pitches that Drury has had a ton of success with this year inlcuding 12 homeruns. We should be looking at weather in the low 90’s which is optimal for hitting. Drury is also making hard contact nearly 50% of the time and has a walke rate of 15% and an xwOBA of .428! You can stack The Angels if you want or se him as a one off.
My favorite stack for today is going to be The Rangers against Muller! Other teams to stack that I am interested in are The Angels and The Padres!
