Pitchers

Top Tier: Patrick Corbin- Corbin is my favorite overall pitcher tonight when factoring in price, and I think he will go over-looked once again with some other big names on this final Friday slate of the season. Corbin doesn’t have the typical “safety” that other top tier aces do given his above-average hard-contact allowed, but he makes up for it with solid ground balls and fantastic swing and miss ability. He’s honestly pretty much neck-and-neck with Gerrit Cole in terms of advanced metrics, yet he is $2,000 cheaper on DraftKings and has as strong of a matchup with the San Diego Padres. The Padres do have pop against lefties, as I’ve pointed out recently, but the park and Corbin’s ground ball ability will neutralize that to an extent. I’d much rather take the savings with Corbin tonight and he is my clear SP1.

Mid Tier: Tyler Glasnow- This is more of a FanDuel play, as Glasnow comes in at the very nice price of $6,900. Glasnow has been extremely good for the Rays since coming over from the Pirates and it honestly looks like Pittsburgh got fleeced in that deal although it is early. Glasnow has made vast improvements to his control, though it has come at the expense of hi strikeouts. He does have a very favorable pitchers ump tonight, and Vegas absolutely loves him. I think he is a bit over-priced on DK still, but I would be completely comfortable with him in all formats on FanDuel.

Low Tier: Zach Davies- I have some interest in Milwaukee bats tonight, but is you need a cheap SP2 I think you are going to be looking at Zach Davies. He doesn’t fit my brand of hunting for strikeouts, but there are also some pretty limited options in terms of cheapies today and I want to fit in the Coors bats. He is pretty strong against righties, however, and he’s going to see a fairly right-handed heavy offense in Detroit and he is a huge favorite. At under $6,000, I’ll take my chances especially after playing Jason Vargas last night.

Batters

C: Evan Gattis, Mike Zunino, Omar Narvaez

1B: Freddie Freeman, Paul Goldschmidt, Edwin Encarnacion

2B: Travis Shaw, Jed Lowrie, Brandon Lowe

3B: Alex Bregman, Matt Chapman, Justin Turner

SS: Francisco Lindor, Xander Bogaerts, Carlos Correa

OF: Christian Yelich, Khris Davis, Kole Calhoun, Andrew McCutchen, Nick Martini

Stack of the Day

  1. Coors Field- This is definitely a spend for Coors day for me and I want all the Nats/Rockies I can get in cash games.

2. Brewers- Over the last month, Jordan Zimmermann has surrendered over two homers per nine innings and the Brewers certainly have enough power to get to him.
