Welcome in to Spike’s Building Blocks for DraftKings & FanDuel! This is a free article written daily to identify my top-overall DFS plays for cash/gpp games and small-field contests on both DraftKings and FanDuel. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports the content. If you’d like to support further you can click HERE to sign-up for a MLB Premium package. This gets you access to my Core Plays daily — allowing you to tail my builds, access the premium Discord channels and view our DFS Projections Portal. This Portal also gives all of your cash and gpp plays as well as our players to fade! We’ve been on fire already this MLB season, and there’s no better time to sign-up. With that being said, let’s dive into today’s slate…
Top Pitchers
Brandon Woodruff
This is an odd slate as the majority of the east coast games have a ton of rain in the forecast. The New York Yankees game has been postponed already along with the Washington Nationals game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see anotther one postponed as well thanks to this Hurricane. Woodruff looks like the top ptching play regardless against Miami. Brandon is enjoying a solid season with a 29.6% strike out rate and an xBA of just .199! With a slid 5 pitch mix, Woodruff does a lot of damage in the strike out area and doesn’t give up a ton of hard contact. Lock him in for all contests and move on.
Zack Littell
This is more of a safe play due to the weather in most games for this slate. Zack has plenty of upside at a price tag of just 6.7K on DraftKings. Littell has been up and down this year but has recently started putting together some solid starts. We got to see some of his ceiling the other day with 8 strike outs against The Twins. The Blue Jays aren’t the easiest matchup but we don’t need him to put up 25 FP’s (although that would be nice) to hit value.
Building Blocks
Dansby Swanson
One of the few games without projected rain and Swanson looks great! Rocking 2 homeruns along with 5 hits and 6 RBI’s in his last 4 games, you could say he is on a little heater. Flexen is not a good pitcher and The Cubs in general should torch him. Dansby loves cutters and 4 seamers (14 homeruns off of them) which just happen to get thrown a combined 69.5% of the time by Flexen. Wrigley Field is hitter friendly as well making this matchup look all the better.
My favorite stack for today is going to be The Cubs against Flexen! Other teams to stack that I am interested in are The Brewers and The Tigers!
Spike’s Fun Fact of the Day
Zack Littell’s walk rate is only 2.6%!
