With that being said, let’s dive into today’s slate…
Top Pitchers
Blake Snell
We have an interesting pitching slate as there aren’t many aces on the mound. Snell is one of them and looks like the best option. Blake has been having a great year, 31.1% strike out rate with hard contact just 33.5% as well. Also wnt to throw in his 36.4% whiff rate which is a elite number. The matchup against The Giants is favorable as they strike out a ton and can be lack-luster at times. The Padres also have one of the more pitcher friendly parks in the league. Snell checks out across the board and is the top play at pitcher.
Jordan Montgomery
This might seem like an ugly play but Jordan has looked solid in his last couple of starts. The Rangers are nearly favored -200 to win which helps his cause. The Twins have been a frustrating team to watch all year long and I don’t expect that to change here. Minnesota also ranks dead last in strike outs per 9 innings (10.31). Montgomery doesn’t allow a ton of hard contact (39%) but he forces a lot of ground balls. For a guy under 9k, I love the upside he has and I don’t think he is going to be super high owned.
Building Blocks
Anthony Santander
Santander is in a solid spot tonight and could possibly get overlooked with a Coors slate ahead of us. Sporting 17 hits in his last 14 games, you could say he has been on a little heater. Anthony gets a matchup tonight against Arizona and Cecconi in a very hitter frinedly park. Cecconi’s two main pitches are the 4 seamer and a slider which combined for 86.5% of his pitching, Both of these pitches are ones that Santander has had a ton of succes with, not to mention that his third most thrown pitch is the curve (9%) which is another one he hits very well. He isn’t super expensive either at 4.5k, he has a ton of upside here tonight!
My favorite stack for today is going to be The Blue Jays against Blach! Other teams to stack that I am interested in are The Orioles and The Red Soxs!
Spike’s Fun Fact of the Day
The oldest baseball park still in use is Fenway Park which is home to The Boston Red Sox. Fenway debuted in 1912.
