What’s up everyone! We have a light slate on Thursday night, so I’m opting for an article with Final Thoughts returning on Friday…let’s get it!
Pitchers
Justin Verlander- Verlander has been on an absolute tear the second-half of the season, and is the top play in all formats on this slate (obviously).
Tyler Mahle- If looking for an SP2 alongside Verlander, I think this is the third night in a row to pick on Seattle with a Reds pitcher, this time with Tyler Mahle. The Mariners will be able to send five lefties to the plate, but their .317 wOBA and 26% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching are some of the worst marks on the slate.
Brendan McKay (GPP)- I love this spot for McKay in GPPs, as he is mid-priced and the Rangers are trotting out a lineup with a .313 wOBA and 26% strikeout rate to left-handed pitching.
Stacks
Dodgers- The Dodgers figure to be the chalk of this slate against Dylan Bundy, and it’s probably chalk that we are going to have to eat. It is worth noting that Bundy has allowed much more power to righties this season than lefties, so making the move and playing Dodgers righties over lefties makes for a great leverage play in both cash games and GPPs.
Braves- I’ve been on the Braves pretty much every day this week, and I’m going back to the well tonight against Drew Smyly who could end up getting some ownership as a pitching option. Smyly allows over a .200 ISO to both sides of the plate, and five of the top six in the Braves lineup boast a .250+ ISO against left-handed pitching.
Cash Game Core: AJ Pollock, Matt Duffy, Jesus Aguilar, Ronald Acuna
Favorite One-Off: JD Martinez
HR Pick: Ronald Acuna
