MLB DFS 8/16/22 – OwnersBox Best Buys

We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?

What is OwnersBox? How are they different?

OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!

Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!

Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!

Top Play – George Springer

We get a clear misprice tonight, with Springer listed at just $3,900 against Dean Kremer. Kremer has been one of the worst pitchers on the slate this season, and he is much worse against right-handed batters than lefties. He throws a lot of fastballs — over 40% of the time — which is good news since Springer is a dominant fastball hitter. Overall, Toronto is one of the top offenses on the slate and getting a hitter the caliber of Springer for this cheap is just too good to pass up.

Top Pitcher – Robbie Ray

I don’t love playing Robbie Ray in DFS due to his high walk rate, but I love the match-up for him tonight and he leads his position in our projections. HIs 28% strikeout rate is one of the highest numbers on tonight’s slate, and his match-up against the Angels offense might be the top overall. Los Angeles comes into tonight with a 24% strikeout rate vs left-handed pitching and a horrific .259 wOBA. They also only walk 6% of the time, so we don’t have to worry as much about the control. He’s installed as a huge -180 favorite and has a great shot at earning a win tonight as well. He’s my top pitching play in all formats.

Top Super-Flex Play – Justin Steele

Steele has been one of the best pitchers on this slate over the last month — sporting a 31% strikeout rate over that span with just a 2.88 SIERA. Now, he gets an elite match-up against the Washington Nationals. This Washington lineup has no real hitter to fear right now, and Steele has been cruising. He should honestly be priced closer to $10,000 — so getting a good pitcher below $9K is a must-play for me on Tuesday.
