We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?
What is OwnersBox? How are they different?
OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!
Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!
Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!
Top Play – Wilmer Flores
Per usual, we are targeting value heavily at the INF/OF slots to secure our ability to spend up for pitching. We once again find value with the San Francisco Giants, up against Madison Bumgarner tonight. Bum continues to be a shell of his former self, really struggling with right-handed hitters this season. He’s allowing a .340 wOBA and .200 ISO in the split, compared to .322 and .120 marks against same-handed batters. San Fran will be able to send six or seven righties to the plate tonight, making it a potential long night ahead for the former ace. One of those righties is Wilmer Flores, who is almost minimum price on OwnersBox tonight. Flores has always been better against left-handed pitching, and still has some of the best numbers on the team this season. This is too cheap for a key member of an offense with upside tonight and I like him even as a one-off.
Top Pitcher – Gerrit Cole
Cole has to be considered the top option tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays. It’s obvious that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball, and we don’t need to go into a ton of detail covering why you should be playing him tonight. He’s struck out 33% of batters faced this season, and the Rays projected lineup carries a near 27% strikeout rate into tonight. Furthermore, he has absolutely owned this team in his career. We have a 167 PA sample-size of Cole vs this current Rays lineup — resulting in a .273 expected wOBA and 31% strikeouts. He’s in a great spot to pitch deep into this game and be in position for a win, making him the top play on Monday.
Top Super-Flex Play – Alex Cobb
Cobb’s price is moving up, but as long as he is below $9K I’m going to view him as too cheap for someone that does have a ceiling when he pitches well. He continues to underperform based on his advanced stats, but he has a strong match-up tonight against Arizona. They don’t strike out a ton, but their project lineup tonight owns just a .303 wOBA against right-handed pitching. Getting a higher-upside pitcher below $9,000 allows us to comfortably spend up on + good offensive pieces, which I think is the optimal build strategy for tonight’s slate.
