MLB DFS 8/12/22 – OwnersBox Best Buys

We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?

What is OwnersBox? How are they different?

OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!

Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!

Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!

Every Friday we will be dropping a SuperFlex Fridays podcast on our YouTube channel to help you build your lineups. Here is today’s episode below:

Top Play – Lamonte Wade

I think this is a fantastic spot for the Giants tonight against Bryse Wilson, and I went as far to call them a cheat code in today’s video. Wilson is one of the worst pitchers in baseball against left-handed hitters, and San Fran will be able to throw six or seven lefties at him tonight. Their implied team total is up almost half a run since open, and is rapidly approaching five runs. Wade has the best numbers in the Giants lineup this season against right-handed pitching, and is listed just $200 off the minimum salary. He’s too cheap for the upside he possesses tonight, and he is my HR call on Friday as well.

Top Pitcher – Max Scherzer

There are a few big name pitchers on tonight’s slate, including Carlos Rodon, but Max has to be the top option and he paces our projections, as well. Philly is a solid offense, but they have a slew of high strikeout bats and Scherzer has dominated this team in his career. We have a near 200 PA sample-size of Scherzer against the current Phillies roster — resulting in a .260 expected wOBA allowed and 34% strikeouts. He’s been crushing since his return from injury, and there’s a reason he’s installed as a -235 favorite tonight. You can make the case for several arms tonight, but nobody can match the floor/ceiling combo Mad Max provides.

Top Super-Flex Play – Michael Kopech

Typically we spend up for two pitchers thanks to the super-flex position, but I can’t overlook Michael Kopech against the Detroit Tigers. Kopech has struggled recently, but so has this offense and something has to give tonight. Detroit is terrible against right-handed pitching, with their projected lineup sporting a .263 wOBA and 26% strikeout rate in the split. Furthermore, they’re striking out almost 30% of the time as a team over the last 14 days. I liked Zach Plesac in this spot yesterday, and Kopech is a much better pitcher. This is too cheap for a pitcher in this good of a spot and I think he’s a must play in all formats.
