MLB DFS 7/6/22 – Ben’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 7/6/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. Last year was an extremely big year for the Karma team in MLB, and we are looking to continue that success in 2022. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. Let’s get to the plays…

Above is an example of the Core Plays given out to Subscribers on Friday May 13th

Pitcher

One thing is certain this day in age in DFS, and that’s that there will be value present when it comes to filling in your bats. I say that because there’s a very clear number one stack tonight, and fitting them in around two top pitchers is doable if you find value at a few positions. Aaron Nola and Cristian Javier both check in at over 40% projected ownership tonight, with Luis Severino around 20% as well. It appears that two of these three will be the popular build on DraftKings — and I would rank them Javier, Nola then Sevy in that order.

Despite those ownership projections, we have some strong mid-tier and cheap plays in Alex Cobb and Brayan Bello. Cobb continues to be unluckiest pitcher in baseball and has a strong match-up with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bello is the Red Sox top pitching prospect, and is making his MLB debut against a beatable Rays lineup. He’s priced at only $5,000 on DraftKings, and has to be considered the top value play tonight. Getting two aces is too easy for me not to build that way in my main lineup, but Bello is viable in all formats on Wednesday.

Building Blocks

Mookie Betts

Betts was my top choice last night, and he responded graciously with a homerun. Los Angeles is in another top spot tonight against Jose Urena, actually owning over a 6 run team total. Urena is terrible against both sides of the plate, and sports over a 7.00 ERA at Triple A this season. The Dodgers will 100% be the chalk stack tonight, but I can’t ignore the match-up and Betts is still way too cheap on DraftKings.

Darick Hall

Philly owns one of the better team totals tonight at five runs, and matches up with Josiah Gray. Gray has been better over the course of the season, but still struggles with left-handed batters mightily. Hall has been great for the Phillies since joining the lineup, and has flashed power as well. Despite the small sample, he his .418 wOBA is tops on this roster against righty pitching. I love Freddie Freeman tonight, but Hall is the top value play on the slate in my opinion.

Bold Call

Javier strikes out 10+ again!
