Top Pitchers
Dylan Cease
We have an interesting pitching slate for this afternoon slate. Cease looks to be one of the better options against Oakland. Some of this is matchup based but Dylan has looked good recently. Sporting a 28% strikeout rate and going against Oakland are two great things. Oakland has 2 guys making hard contact more than 40% of the time and have just looked awful recently. Cease has double digit strikeout upside and Chicago is heavily favored to win. I don’t expect this to be a secret and he should be 20%+ owned but nonetheless, he is an elite play today!
Eury Perez
Another day, another Eury Perez start! This is a tournament play as the matchup isn’t elite by any means against the hot hitting Braves. That being said, Perez has alos looked elite lately. Eury has a 30% strikeout rate to go along with an xBA of .204 and an xwOBA of .281. Giving up hard contact 41% of the time as well makes it easy to see why I like him. While Atlanta doesn’t strikeout a ton, Perez has a solid cruve and change-up to finish the job. I don’t think we will see high ownership on him and on the other side, we might see the Braves get some ownership so this is a fantastic leverage play!
Building Blocks
Eloy Jimenez
Will keep it going with the White Sox’s here as Eloy is in a fantastic spot. Kyle Muller will be on the mound today for Oakland which bodes well for the enitre lineup of Chicago. Muller’s top 2 pitches are the 4 seamer and the slider which just happen to be Jimenez’s favorite pitches to hit. The wild thing about these pitches is that Eloy has an BA over .300 and a wOBA over .350 for both pitches and his xBA/xwOBA are both projected higher. The thought here is that he is only going to get better at hitting these pitches.
My favorite stack for today is going to be The White Sox’s against Muller! Other teams to stack that I am interested in are The Cardinals and The Giants!
