Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 7/02/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. We have already found a lot of success to start the year off and there is plenty more to come! A big KARMA takedown is imminent and only a matter of time. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. You can also try out the Core Plays package with a $5 day pass. Let’s get to the plays…
Pitcher
We have a small slate so pitching options are goinng to be slim pickings. Nestor Cortes sticks out as one of the better options here. He has a 26.1% strikeout rate against this curret Guardians roster and they don’t have a lot of big hitters on their roster. My one issue with him is that Cleveland doesn’t strikeout a ton. He can still grab you 20-30 FP in this positive matchup. For your SP2, you will have to make a decision. Tyler Anderson doesn’t produce a ton of strike outs but he does get batters out. San Diego has been pretty mediocre all year long making him a viable option on such a small slate. Anderson also gives up a small hare contact rate wiht it being just above 30%. I think you can also make a case for Yu Darvish but the matchup is far more difficult for him. I think there are some scenarios where he does well though. Those are the three options that stick out for me on tonight’s slate.
Building Blocks
Aaron Judge
Nothing has changed from him being in the article yesterday. It is still a matchup against Civale who has been atrocious this year. In particular against righties, which New York should roll a lot of them out here. Spend up options are few and far between and Aaron will be no secret tonight. You just can’t ignore what he has been doing this year all around. Let’s start off with hard contact rate north of 60%. We can follow that up with his 29 homeruns and 59 RBI’s. Judge by far has the best numbers on the team and is an easy lock for me tonight here.
Jordan Luplow
It is another Coors slate tonight. Expect all of them to be higher owned but of course for good reasoning. Luplow is projected ot be leading off against Gomber and the Rockies. His numbers don’t exactly jump off at you but he comes with plenty of upside. Earlier this year he double donged and our other MLB analyst Ben was all over him at a low ownership. While he won’t be low owned, he is in the best hitting environment of the night and should grab an extra at bat with leading off. He sports 10 homeruns with 20 RBI’s this year alrwady and could easily go bezerk tonight!
Bold Call
Luplow and Judge Double Dong!
