We’ve been on fire already this MLB season, and there’s no better time to sign-up. With that being said, let’s dive into today’s slate…

Top Pitchers

Hunter Brown

We have an interesting slate on our hands with no true standout options. Nola willl probably garner a lot of ownership/attention but with the weather looking pretty bad there, I am looking at Hunter Brown. This is more of a matchup driven play but Brown has also been having a solid start to his career. Striking out guys 25% of the time and his hard hit rate isn’t terrible. I think Hunter has gotten pretty unlucky this year and still looks good. Oakland is a team that is clearly in rebuild mode and outside of a couple players, they look pretty bad. 90% of their team strikes out more than 20% of the time with only a couple guys making hard contact more 40%. Brown also has a solid pitch mix with a whiff rate of 26%. I’m not sure how owned he will be as he is slightly on the expensive side but is a priority for me in lineup building.

Mitch Keller

Right below Brown in price is Keller. We were on him last week and he had a career game, striking out 13 batters and grabbing the win. With a strikeout rate of 30% along with hard contact only 27% of the time and only allowing 6% of batters to walk, you can see what there is to like about him. The matchup isn’t as good as last week but there is plenty to like about it. Keller has the ability to make guys miss or pop/ground out which bodes well for him. I can see him going 7 innings and grabbing a win here. This is more of a tournament play but I think he is fine in cash games as well.

Building Blocks

Adolis Garcia

Garcia has been on fire and gets a great matchup today against Kyle Freeland. In the past 5 games, Adolis has hit 5 homeruns on 7 hits while averaging over 20 DK fantasy points. Freeland likes to throw his sinker, slider and cruve more than his other pitches which is ironic because all of Garcia’s homeruns this year have come off of breaking pitches and fastball like pitches. He matches up well with them and I woulnd’t be surprised to see him go yard again today. Will be a top priority for me for hitters today and is a MUST.

My favorite GPP stack for today is going to be The Rangers against Freeland. Other teams to stack that I am interested in are Detroit and The Yankees.

Spike’s Fun Fact of the Day

OThe longest game in MLB history went for 26 innings! It was The Brooklyn Robins Vs. The Boston Braves in 1920! The Robins are now known as The Dodgers.
