MLB DFS 4/16/22 – Top Stacks For Draftkings/Fanduel

Welcome to our MLB DFS Top Stacks for 4/16/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall stacks for today’s main slate. We got a solid 6 game slate today and there are a ton of great ways to go. That being said, it is also a Coors Stadium slate. Keep that in mind when building your rosters tonight. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate this season — you can gain access to the Core Plays as well as our premium discord here. You can also try out the Core Plays package with a $5 day pass. Let’s get to the stacks…

Colorado Rockies

This should come as no surprise as Coors Stadium is one we attack often. I was back and forth between writing up the Cubs here but I like the Rockies a tad more. Mark Leiter Jr hasn’t pitched in a couple of years and there should be some rust that still needs to be shook off. When he was on the mound, he wasn’t particularly great against right handed batters and it looks like Colorado is going to roll out plenty of them. CJ Cron peaks my interest and is a must in a stack here. He is hitting about .300 so far this year and it has been a slow start but we all know he comes with a lot of power and in a stadium where hoe runs are much easier where he plays a lot of games in. It is only a matter of time before he starts connecting. Projected to hit clean up (4th) and they’re projected for a team run total of 6.5 tonight. Depending on the rest of the starters, taking a shot on one of the cheaper guys in a stack is a solid option as they should garner lower ownership.

Los Angeles Dodgers

We are going to talk about this team a lot this year because they’re completely stacked through out the entire lineup. Hunter Greene had a decent debut against Atlanta as he struck out seven but also posted a 5.4 ERA. It is his second career start against a powerful offense in the Dodgers. Attacking a young pitcher seems like a solid option when you have all the experience that LA has in their roster. Not to mention that currently the win is blowing 10 MPH out at Dodger Stadium which is only going to help the case with nearly all of their hitters. In particular, the lefties are slightly more appealing in regards of Freeman, Lux, Muncy and Bellinger. That being said, I have no issues using any of the starters here and will likely be going to the bottom of the lineup for some lower owned plays as the top of it should be more heavily owned.

New York Yankees

This is a team that usually is swinging for the fences. Which will result in some dud games from time to time but make no mistake, if they’re getting those connections at the plate then it could be a long night for the Tyler Wells and co. Aaron Judge should be back in the lineup tonight and I expect the top of this lineup to really do some damage here. I have already talked about Kyle Higashioka in our discord and how his swing is being mentored by power hitter Josh Donaldson. I really think he has a better ability and understanding of how to hit the ball deeper now and is a fine play in stacks as a wrap around or even as a one off. Tyler Wells has a 66.7% hard hit rate against him and that bodes extremely well for this NYY team.

BONUS: The Astros are a sneaky stack tonight with a solid matchup against Flexen. They might go overlooked with how terrible they looked last night, this is a much easier matchup and eventually these power hitters have to get it going.
