Detroit Tigers
Francisco Liriano (+145)
Francisco Liriano has struggled for the most part this season, but he has also shown flashed at times. Over his last eight games, he has held his opponents to two or fewer earned runs four times, although he was not able to pitch deep into those games. He gets a great matchup against the Chicago White Sox, who own a 40% win rate at home, while struggling against left-handed pitching. More importantly, they get a matchup against Lucas Giolito, who simply has rarely found success at home this season. He has been heating up over his last 10 starts, but the majority of his success came on the road. Through 13 home starts, Giolito owns a 3-5 record with a 7.52 ERA. It’s tough to truly trust a team like the Detroit Tigers, but for these odds, I’m willing to take a chance.

St. Louis Cardinals
Miles Mikolas (-120)
Miles Mikolas has somewhat cooled down recently, but he still owns a 13-4 record with a 2.96 ERA on the season. He has also allowed two or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight starts. Mikolas gets a matchup against the Washington Nationals, who are expected to feature a few top right-handed bats throughout their lineup. He’s holding righties to a .192 average with a .271 slugging percentage this season, though. Mikolas should see plenty of run support in this game, as Erick Fedde will be taking the mound for the Nationals. He has thrown five or more innings in five games this season, allowing at least three earned runs in each of those games. Overall, he owns a 1-3 record with a 5.79 ERA through six starts. Fedde is also coming off of an injury, and could take a couple games to get back into MLB form.

Cleveland Indians
Mike Clevinger (-255)
The Cleveland Indians are in an elite spot against the Kansas City Royals tonight. Mike Clevinger will be taking the mound for Cleveland, and he owns a 10-7 record with a 3.17 ERA through 27 starts. He has also held Kansas City to six earned runs over 21 innings in three matchups this season. Furthermore, Clevinger has allowed his opponents to score two or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight starts. Danny Duffy will draw the start for the Royals tonight. He owns an 8-11 record with a 4.72 ERA over 27 starts this season, although he has flashed at times. Still, Duffy has allowed Cleveland to score 18 earned runs over 15 innings in three matchups this season. The Indians feature one of the best offenses in the MLB when playing at home, as they are averaging 5.4 runs per game in Cleveland. They have proven on multiple occasions that they can score runs against Duffy, and tonight should be no different.
