For this article, we will be using odds from www.MyBookie.today.
Philadelphia Phillies
Vince Velasquez (-160)
The Philadelphia Phillies have been struggling offensively recently, which is a major concern. They get a great matchup against Jose Urena, though, who owns a 2-3 record with a 4.86 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has also allowed 12 earned runs through only 16 innings against Philadelphia this season.
Overall, Urena has allowed four or more earned runs in five of his last eight starts. Vince Velasquez will be taking the mound for the Phillies, and he’s in a great spot. He has looked elite over his last nine games (eight starts), posting a 4-1 record with a 2.66 ERA.
He has also been at his best on the road, where he has recorded a 3-4 record with a 3.02 ERA through 12 starts. Furthermore, He has allowed only one run over 12.1 total innings against the Miami Marlins.

Pittsburgh Pirates
Trevor Williams (-145)
The Pittsburgh Pirates are in a similar situation to the Philadelphia Phillies. They have been struggling to score runs recently, but they get a great matchup against Matt Harvey today.
Through 27 games (23 starts), Harvey owns a 6-7 record with a 4.97 ERA. He has also allowed 12 earned runs in only 14.2 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates this season. Trevor Williams will be taking the mound for Pittsburgh tonight.
He has been playing at an elite level recently, posting a 5-4 record with a 2.13 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has also allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last eight starts.
The biggest concern in this game is the Pirates offense, but they should be able to find runs in this matchup against Harvey today.
Bet 3 units on Pittsburgh -1.5 RL to win 4.4 units (+145)
New York Mets
Jacob deGrom (+115)
Simply put, this is a bet on Jacob deGrom. He has been arguably the best pitcher in the MLB this season, owning an 8-8 record with a 1.68 ERA. He has thrown eight or more innings in six of his last 10 starts, and he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in nine of those starts.
At this point, it’s clear that deGrom can shut down any offense, even a tough Los Angeles Dodgers offense. The only worry about this game is the New York Mets offense. They have been struggling, and they get a tough matchup against Alex Wood.
Wood owns a 5-1 record with a 2.46 ERA over his last 10 starts, but he has allowed two or more runs in six of those games. He also owns a 3.70 xFIP and a 3.89 SIERA, suggesting he’s been getting slightly lucky recently.
New York’s deGrom only needs a couple runs to potentially pick up the win, and getting plus odds on him is always an elite bet.
