Tampa Bay Rays
Tyler Glasnow (-165)
I’m going with a bit riskier of a strategy here today, but I’m extremely high on Tampa Bay in this game. Tyler Glasnow’s role is a bit unknown, as he only threw three innings in his first start, but he can pitch deeper into games. Regardless, Tampa Bay has found plenty of success with their bullpen strategy this season, so allowing Glasnow to get through the lineup once before swapping pitchers to keep Baltimore uncomfortable could be a recipe for success. Surprisingly, the Orioles offense has been performing well since trading away their best player, but they are loaded with right-handed bats. They could also struggle to score runs in one of the most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB. I am slightly worried about Tampa Bay scoring runs tonight, but they get an elite matchup against Alex Cobb. Through 20 starts, he owns a 3-14 record with a 5.83 ERA. He also owns an 0-3 record with a 6.06 ERA in three starts against Tampa Bay this season, allowing 13 total runs in only 16.1 innings. Generally, I only bet two units on such big underdogs, but I’m extremely high on Tampa Bay tonight, and these odds are too good to pass up.

New York Yankees
CC Sabathia (-225)
I’m opting for a much safer bet here after using a risky bet for my first one. The New York Yankees feature one of the best offenses in the MLB, and they should find success in a relatively hitter friendly stadium. They get a matchup against Reynaldo Lopez, who has recorded a 3-5 record with a 5.74 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has also allowed five or more earned runs in three of his last four starts. The Yankees should also see plenty of time against the White Sox 25th ranked bullpen. CC Sabathia will be taking the mound for the Yankees tonight, and he has dominated with a 3.47 ERA over his last 10 starts. He also gets a start against the White Sox, who are averaging only 3.7 runs per game over the last week. New York is a team that continues to find success, while Chicago continues to struggle with both their pitching and offense.
Bet 3 units on New York Yankees -1.5 RL to win 2.3 units (-130)
Cincinnati Reds/New York Mets
Sal Romano (-105)
Jason Vargas (-115)
I generally don’t like betting on game totals, but these odds are slightly too good to pass up. Jason Vargas has well documented struggles, posting a 2-7 record with an 8.23 ERA through 11 games. He has also allowed three or more earned runs in seven of his last 10 starts, while failing to pitch more than five innings in any game. Sal Romano will draw the start for Cincinnati, and he owns a 6-9 record with a 5.12 ERA this season. He has also allowed three or more runs in three of his last four starts. New York and Cincinnati also feature two below average bullpens that could see plenty of time in the game tonight. These two teams combined for 10 runs last night, and they could see similar results tonight.
