Bales’ MyBookie Bets
Cleveland Indians
Corey Kluber (-240)
The odds on this game are a bit shocking. The Cleveland Indians have been an elite offense at home – 62.1% win rate – while the Tampa Bay Rays have struggled on the road – 44.1% win rate. Corey Kluber has been one of the best pitchers in the MLB at home, posting an 8-3 record with a 2.24 ERA through 14 home starts. He has been struggling a bit recently, but Kluber has the potential to throw a complete game shutout on any given night. Tyler Glasnow will be taking the mound for the Rays tonight, and he’s one of few players that are a “true” starter for Tampa Bay. He has struggled a bit in his last two starts, allowing seven earned runs over 11.2 innings. The Indians also features arguably the best offense in the MLB at home, as they are averaging 5.6 runs per game in Cleveland.

St. Louis Cardinals
Austin Gomber (-220)
The St. Louis Cardinals are in a similar position as the Cleveland Indians. Austin Gomber has thrown extremely well through 23 games (six starts). In those games, he owns a 4-0 record with a 2.79 ERA. He has also allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last four starts. He also gets a solid matchup against the Cincinnati Reds, who own a 1-5 record over the last week. Homer Bailey will be taking the mound for Cincinnati tonight. He has struggled over his last 10 starts, posting a 1-7 record with a 6.62 ERA. He has also allowed three or more earned runs in each of his last four starts. It’s a bit worrisome that Gomber is due for regression, but even if that’s the case, St. Louis should be in a fine spot against Bailey.

Los Angeles Angels
Jaime Barria (+180)
The Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels are in an odd spot tonight. Framber Valdez has looked outstanding through two starts this season, but that does not represent the pitcher he is. Through 77 games (43 starts) in the minors, Valdez owns a 21-19 record with a 3.87 ERA. He is also due for regression, recording a 4.62 xFIP and a 4.09 SIERA this season. Jaime Barria is coming off a tough starts, but he has allowed three or fewer earned runs in eight of his last 10 starts. Houston features the better offense this season, but they have struggled to score runs at home. Los Angeles comes with tremendous odds, and regression could potentially catch up to Valdez tonight.
