He has thrown eight or more innings in six of his last nine starts, as well. Cole Hamels has not been enjoying the same success as deGrom this season, but he has been throwing at an elite level since joining the Chicago Cubs. He has allowed only three earned runs through 34 innings, while not allowing more than one earned run in any of those games. The only major concern in this game is the weather, which will be extremely hitter friendly. Still, both pitchers have the stuff to shut down elite offenses in the best hitting conditions.
