Philadelphia Phillies

Vince Velasquez (+120)

This is an extremely interesting matchup, as this game somewhat sets up perfectly for Velasquez. He has found plenty of success against the Washington Nationals this season, while doing his best work on the road. Through 10 road starts, he owns a 2-4 record with a 3.02 ERA. The Philadelphia Phillies get a matchup against Tanner Roark, who has struggled in three starts against Philadelphia this season. He is also at his worst in Washington, where he owns a 4-6 record with a 5.00 ERA through 11 starts. The Phillies offense has struggled on the road, which is likely the reason they are underdogs in this game. Still, they have found continued success against Roark, and Velasquez should not need much run support to win this game.

Boston Red Sox

Nathan Eovaldi (-170)

Two of the best teams in the MLB will collide in Boston once again tonight. Nathan Eovaldi will be taking the mound for the Boston Red Sox tonight, and he has looked outstanding over his last five starts. He has allowed one of fewer earned runs in four of those five games. He is also 2-0, while throwing 15 shutout innings in his only two starts in Boston. Shane Bieber, who has seemingly been a bit unlucky this season, will draw the start for the Cleveland Indians. He owns a 5-2 record with a 4.45 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has also allowed three or more earned runs in six of his last eight starts. The home-field advantage is what we need to focus on here, though, as Boston owns a 72.1% win rate at home, while Cleveland has struggled to produce offensively on the road.

Milwaukee Brewers

Junior Guerra (-205)

I utilized the Milwaukee Brewers as my “safe bet” last night, and I’m going to do that again tonight. Here we get better odds for Milwaukee, but the thought process is very similar. Junior Guerra is a player that has thrown extremely well at home, posting a 3-3 record with a 2.59 ERA through 14 starts in Milwaukee. He has also allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his last six home starts. He gets a matchup against the Cincinnati Reds, who have struggled at times offensively this season, specifically on the road. Sal Romano will throw for Cincinnati tonight, and he owns a 7-10 record with a 5.31 ERA through 25 games (23 starts) this season. He generally does not throw deep into games, meaning Milwaukee could see plenty of Cincinnati’s 17th ranked bullpen tonight. These odds are simply too good to pass up tonight.
