Bales’ MyBookie Bets
New York Mets
Zack Wheeler (-130)
The New York Mets are quietly in an elite spot tonight. They feature one of the worst offenses in the MLB this season, but after some recent call-ups, they are hitting .328 with a .547 slugging percentage and a .933 OPS over the last week. They are also averaging 8.8 runs per game over that span. Zack Wheeler will be taking the mound for them, and he has found a new level to his talents recently. Over his last 10 starts, he owns a 6-1 record with a 2.51 ERA. He has also held his opponents to two or fewer earned runs in each of his last five starts. New York gets a tough matchup against Derek Holland, although he has allowed two or more runs in four of his last five contests, suggesting he has cooled down from a recent hot streak. Furthermore, the San Francisco Giants have been struggling recently, and they own only a 41.5% win rate on the road this season.

Minnesota Twins
Stephen Gonsalves (-170)
I generally don’t like betting on players making their MLB debut, but Gonsalves is a top prospect for the Minnesota Twins. He owns a 53-20 record with a 2.46 ERA through 113 minor league games (108 starts). He has also been throwing at an elite level in 2018, although he has struggled at times with his command. He’ll be throwing at home tonight, and gets a great matchup against the Chicago White Sox. More importantly, for this bet, Lucas Giolito will be taking the mound for Chicago. Through 24 starts, he owns an 8-9 record with a 6.15 ERA. Minnesota’s offense has also found plenty of success since the trade deadline, and they have been a better offense at home this season. While Gonsalves is somewhat of a scary option, he should see plenty of run support tonight.

Milwaukee Brewers
Chase Anderson (-240)
Chase Anderson has struggled a bit in his last two starts, but he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his eight starts before that. The Milwaukee Brewers have opted to give him a few extra days worth of rest, hoping to put his recent struggles behind him. While he may allow a few runs to a solid Cincinnati Reds offense tonight, he should receive more than enough run support in this matchup. The Brewers will face off against Homer Bailey, who owns a 1-7 record with a 7.77 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has also allowed four or more earned runs in seven of those 10 games. This game should feature plenty of runs, and I’m siding heavily with Milwaukee’s offense.
