Lineup Optimizer Strategy Picks for MLB 5/27/22

Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/27/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…

Overview

What’s up everyone! I’m posting this article much earlier than usual today as I am traveling, and I will provide any updates to my stacks in our Discord (which you can access free) later today!

Top Stacks

We have tons of options at pitcher today across all pricing levels. One thing I know, I am not going to be playing Shane Bieber at what should be elevated ownership so I removed him from my player pool.

Wow! It’s early and projections will change throughout the day, but seeing the Guardians at over 50% of the 500 lineups is pretty crazy. I’m not sure I’ve stacked them one time all season. They match up with Alex Faedo who has looked average at best since getting the big league call. He has long-term potential, but an adjustment period is needed and he has been especially bad vs left-handed batters. We nailed the Boston stack last night, so I’m going to roll with confidence here and play some of these Guardians bats. The good thing is that this stack is relatively cheap, which means we can deploy my favorite strategy of double-spending on our pitchers. Full-stacking this cheap lineup will allow me to play two of Justin Verlander, Sean Manaea and Brandon Woodruff at pitcher — and still have room to fit in a mini-stack around the Cleveland bats.

Conclusion

I’m going to spend up on two pitchers — while stacking four or five Cleveland bats at the top of the order. I will also look for a two or three man stack to fit around Cleveland.
