Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/25/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…
Overview
It’s a small slate on Wednesday night, but I will continue to build for the bigger single entry GPPs DraftKings has been posting this week.
Top Stacks
A smaller slate means less options at both SP and in the stacks category. We have a clear misprice at pitcher tonight in JP Sears, so I have locked him in alongside Lucas Giolito. If the weather gets weird in Chicago, I will bump Gio down to Cristian Javier in all builds.
On a small slate it’s no shock that the sims gravitate towards the clear top two spots — the Angels and Astros. Both of these pitchers have similar profiles, and I think that I lean towards the Angels tonight. Glen Otto throws a lot of sliders and sinkers to both sides of the plate, and the Angels excel against both pitches. All of Mike Trout, Anthony Rendon, Shohei Ohtani, Brandon Marsh and Jared Walsh have above-average numbers against sliders — and all of those five hitters have strong power numbers against sinkers as well. Given the savings at SP2 tonight, it should be pretty easy to fit in at least four players and fill in another mini-stack around them.
Conclusion
Once again I will be stacking the Angels — with emphasis on success against sliders and sinkers.
