Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/18/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…
Overview
We have a smaller slate tonight with a clear chalk stack and tons of pitching options. I’ll once again be building for a smaller-field single entry tournament.
Top Stacks
We have no Coors Field on this slate, so I removed the Yankees (i know) since they are going to be the chalky cash game stack option. We have tons of aces, so I didn’t want to single out a set pitcher combo.
No shock that the sims love the White Sox here, they match up with the low strikeout Zack Greinke and are cheap enough to stack with two ace-level pitcher. I’m actually most interested in the Cubs, however. They match up with Will Crowe and a pretty bad Pirates bullpen. Crowe will likely work a few innings, and then be followed by Mitch Keller who is another attackable pitcher. Keller himself has been worse vs right-handed batters this season, but with a bad bullpen behind both of them I wouldn’t worry about one side of the plate.
Conclusion
I’ll be stacking the Cubs as a pivot off the Yankees tonight, focusing on the top of the order specifically the one through four or five hitters. Suzuki, Contreras and Happ would be the must-plays for me.
