Welcome everyone to Rueb’s Hitter Breakdown! This season I will be going into detail about my favorite hitters on the main slate for each day. If you would like to pick up a Core plays subscription, you can do so here. Let’s get into it!
Studs:
Nelson Cruz: Cruz is one of the hottest hitters in baseball to start the season! Cruz has three home runs over the past two days, Cruz is an extremely streaky hitter. Cruz can go on these years where he hits homeruns in multiple straight games, we could be at the beginning of one of these stretches. I want to be invested in Cruz right now. On top of the homeruns, he also has two doubles as well. I expect Cruz to be popular versus the lefty Matthew Boyd. Cruz has historically been dominate versus lefties.
Bo Bichette: Bichette homered twice for the Blue Jays on Tuesday and I am ready to go right back to the well. Toronto is one of my favorite stacks on this slate and it starts with Bo. Bo has the combination of power and speed that we look for in our high end spend ups. If the roof is open in Texas, this is the best hitting environment on the slate.
Value:
Jorge Polanco: Polanco has started slow for the Twins. Second base is always a position that I am looking to spend down at. Polanco gets you some cheap access to the Twins. The Twins are my favorite value stack today. Polanco should lead off today for the Twins and pairs nicely with Cruz.
Andrew McCutchen: The lead off hitter for the Phillies today, McCutchen is set up for success at an extremely cheap tag. We always want to target McCutchen versus lefties and the Mets are rolling out David Peterson today. At 3.2k I expect McCutchen to be a popular way to save money today.

Toronto: Biggio-Bichette-Hernandez
Twins: Polanco-Cruz-Sano-Garver
