With The Grain Prop Bet:
Cody Bellinger (+315) – Los Angeles Dodgers – OF
Cody Bellinger has one of the sweetest swings in baseball right now, and he gets a great matchup tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers and Chase Anderson. Anderson is allowing 1.7 HR/9, while only striking out 7.7 batters per nine innings pitched. Bellinger comes into this contest with 0.157 ISO and 0.116 wOBA differentials against right-handed pitching. Over the last 15 days, he has an average batted ball distance of 230 feet, his fly ball rate is 31%, and his hard hit rate is 60%. His distance is up 9 feet from his 12-month average, which suggests that he is seeing the ball well at the plate right now. As soon as Bellinger starts hitting more fly balls, his home runs should increase, which is surprising considering he already has double digit homers this season. He is hitting .423, and his numbers do not suggest that he is going to cool off any time soon. It is not at all a high-upside, risky recommendation, but with only five games to choose from, Bellinger with a positive matchup against a home-run-friendly pitcher is a must.
Against The Grain Prop Bet:
Alex Bregman (+360) – Houston Astros – 3B
Alex Bregman is flirting with a .300 batting average to start the season, but his home runs are only sitting at three. His HR/AB is solid at 0.055, and he gets a great matchup against the Texas Rangers in Texas against a home-run-friendly Adrian Sampson tonight. Sampson is allowing 2.2 HR/9, and the weather should help, as it is expected to be over 70 degrees. In the last 15 days, Bregman sports an average batted ball distance of 208 feet, his exit velocity is over 90 MPH, his fly ball rate is 41%, and his hard hit rate is 38%. There are quite a few home run indicators for Bregman, and due to his poor power to start the season, his odds should be a bit wide. Again, there are only five games to choose from tonight, and getting exposure to hitters against Sampson is important.
*MyBookie continually updates available prop bets on their prop builder, so odds should be released closer to the start of the contests. If you do not see Cody Bellinger and Alex Bregman available, they will likely become available later in the day, and odds will be updated in the article when that happens.*
