Bobby’s MLB Batter Up (4/24/19)

MLB BATTER UP April 24th, 2019

I apologize to everyone who has been DMing me on twitter and Discord asking where my content has been the last week.  I’ve been going through hell with my MacBook and just recently found out it’s a $700 repair so I may be looking to purchase a completely new one. I’ll also be back posting my core plays for subscribers who have been asking about that.  Let’s get back to baseball.  Today I’m borrowing a friend’s computer to get my content posted so will have a little bit of a shorter article today with only 7 games on the slate.

In this article I’ll be keeping a similar approach to how I built my article last season with my stacks, players I’m targeting from those stacks (and why), low-owned home run calls per position, and highest upside plays per position.  As always, keep in touch with me through Discord and Twitter (@DF_Advantage) to suggest things you’d like me to add or take away from this article.

Top Stacks

One of the most important concepts to understand in DFS MLB.  Watch our daily YouTube live podcast for more information on this understanding/mindset.  Keep in mind it is ok to stack 4 guys or 3 from the same team.  This mathematically increases your chances of “cashing” in tournaments.  It isn’t as necessary to stack in cash games (double ups/heads up).  Below is our rankings starting from the best at number 1.

Not only will I be identifying two teams I believe you should target in GPPs, but I will also discuss in the analysis which specific players I want exposure from these two teams AND why.

Bobby’s #1 Leverage Stack of the Slate: Yankees – This entire Yankees team is injured, we know that.  However, the prospects on this team have been showing some pop and we still have some key pieces we can exposure to at the top of the order. We’re getting the return of Gary Sanchez tonight which is someone who I am going to be locking into my lineups on Draftkings at 4.5k which is a fair price considering the tightness of Draftkings pricing this season.  Gleyber Torres is underpriced and another bat I’ll want a piece of today against Felix Pena.  With the Yankees as the away team we’re going to get the guarenteed 9 innings of ABs for this team while I also believe they’re implied Vegas total is underrating them tonight with Sabathia on the mound and Sanchez back in the order.  Pena’s hard contact has been up around 40% over the course of his career and against a Yankees lineup with some big bats that hit for power, I think Pena will have a bit of an issue tonight navigating this order.

Best “One-Off” – Gleyber Torres (underpriced)

      • Best Bet for a Homerun – Gary Sanchez

Bobby’s Favorite Stack of the Slate: Red Sox – We’re going to be sticking in the AL East today as the Red Sox, for me are the clear away top stack on this slate.  They will be competing with the Astros for ownership on a shorter slate but I am going 100% exposure to the Red Sox in all my GPP lineups OVER the Astros.  Tyson Ross does not have the stuff he once did and suffers from an extreme BB% that isn’t likely to come around this season for the Tigers.  This Red Sox team is elite and don’t let the slow start fool you.  This team will have some major games and today is a day I am prioritizing them in all contests.

Make sure to stay up to date with my core plays which can be utilized for cash games and single entry GPPs by DMing me on twitter and signing up for our core plays at www.dfskarma.com/shop (use promo code DOUBLEPLAY to get a discount).  I will always be in discord, as usual, answering questions and giving additional insight to our subscribers and community on the day’s slate.
