Juan Soto’s numbers are embarrassingly bad over his last 10 games, but it’s the perfect time to buy low on him. He’s only hitting .069 with a .103 slugging percentage and a .444 OPS over that span. With that being said, he boasts 51% hard hit and 41% fly ball rates to go along with a 96 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Soto also gets a plus matchup against Zach Plesac, and he brings 0.083 wOBA and 0.141 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching into this game. He has also been elite at home, where he has posted a .314 average with a .613 slugging percentage and a 1.022 OPS this season. Soto is due for a breakout, and his combination of speed and power makes an elite option for a surprisingly low total.
Yasiel Puig has been the opposite of Soto on the surface. Over his last 10 games, he has recorded a .444 average with a .583 slugging percentage and a 1.096 OPS. He possesses five extra-base hits, seven RBIs, and two stolen bases over that span, as well. Puig also enters this game with 41% hard hit and 38% fly ball rates to go along with a 93 MPH exit velocity. He gets a so-so matchup against Austin Voth, but has posted a 0.058 ISO differential against right-handed pitching. He’s expected to hit fourth in the Cleveland Indians lineup, and he should find success once again tonight.
