Nicholas Castellanos has been playing at an elite level for the Chicago Cubs, posting a .372 average with a .791 slugging percentage and a 1.191 OPS over his last 10 games. He boasts 10 extra-base hits (4 home runs) and 6 RBIs over that span, as well. Castellanos also enters this game with 47% hard hit and 35% fly ball rates to go along with a 93 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He gets a plus matchup against Jason Vargas, who continues to pitch well, but is far from a pitcher to shy away from. Castellanos brings 0.073 wOBA and 0.021 ISO differentials against left-handed pitching into this game, as well. He is expected to hit second in the Chicago Cubs lineup, and he makes a great option for the over tonight.
I have picked on Miguel Cabrera quite a bit this season, but I return from vacation, and it’s time to utilize him. He has caught fire recently, recording a .325 average with a .500 slugging percentage and a .900 OPS over his last 10 games. In those games, he owns three extra-base hits (two home runs) and six RBIs. He has also posted a 50% hard hit rate to go along with a 94 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Cabrera gets a great matchup against Yusei Kikuchi, and he possesses 0.071 wOBA and 0.092 ISO differentials against left-handed pitching. Cabrera is expected to hit third for the Detroit Tigers, and this total is set at bit too low for his recent production.
