Matt Duffy has only played in five games this season, posting a .286 average with a .381 slugging percentage and a .729 OPS. He owns two extra-base hits and two RBIs in those games. Duffy has struggled quite a bit over span, though, recording 35% hard hit and 42% ground ball rates with a 92 MPH exit velocity. Duffy also gets a tough matchup against David Price, and he owns a -0.007 ISO differential against left-handed pitching. He’s currently expected to lead off for the Tampa Bay Rays, but Price has found plenty of success, specifically in Boston this season. Even if he’s leading off, Duffy makes a strong under play against Price.
Brian Anderson has seen mixed results this season, as he owns a .250 average with a .500 slugging percentage and a .768 OPS over his last 10 games. He has posted six extra-base hits (two home runs) and four RBIs over that span. Anderson also boasts 43% hard hit and 41% fly ball rates with a 92 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Anderson has been better against right-handed pitching, but he gets a tough matchup against Jake Odorizzi. The latter has held right-handed batters to a .178 average with a .327 slugging percentage and a .258 wOBA this season. Anderson will be playing in one of the most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB, and Odorizzi should be able to slow him down tonight.
