Josh Bell has been ice cold recently, as he’s hitting for a .200 average with a .267 slugging percentage and a .635 OPS over his last 10 games. He has recorded two extra-base hits and two RBIs in those games. Furthermore, Bell has struggled with a 28% hard hit rate to go along with an 88 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Bell has been at his best against right-handed pitching, as he enters this game with 0.092 wOBA and 0.071 ISO differentials against righties. With that being said, he gets a terrible matchup against Sonny Gray, who has held left-handed batters to a .193 average with a .304 slugging percentage and a .242 wOBA this season. Bell is expected to hit fourth in the Pittsburgh Pirates lineup tonight, but it’s unlikely he’ll find success in this matchup.
