The matchup against David Price is far from elite, but this total is too low for Jimenez hitting fifth in the Chicago White Sox lineup tonight.
David Price has thrown well this season, recording a 4-2 record with a 3.39 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP through 13 starts. He also owns a 3.60 xFIP and a 3.64 SIERA in those games. He has allowed a 36% fly ball rate this season, although he has held his opponents to an 11.1% HR/FB rate. Price has also posted a 34.7% hard hit rate to go along with a 21% soft hit rate in 2019. He enters this game with 27.4% strikeout and 12% swinging strike rates in 2019. He gets a matchup against the Chicago White Sox, who aren’t necessarily a dominant offense, but have been getting better against left-handed pitching. Price is a -256 favorite tonight, but the game is set at 10.5 runs. The White Sox offense could find success early in this game, limiting the potential of Price.
