Jose Abreu has found plenty of success recently, posting a .289 average with a .658 slugging percentage and a .999 OPS over his last 10 games. Over that span, he owns 6 extra-base hits (4 home runs) and 10 RBIs. Abreu has recorded 41% hard hit and 34% fly ball rates with a 95 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. While he has been a better option against left-handed pitching, he has found plenty of success against righties, as well. Abreu gets a plus matchup against Daniel Hudson, who is set to be an “opener” in this game. Surprisingly, Toronto has featured a strong bullpen this season. Still, Abreu will be moving to a hitter friendly stadium, and he has been playing more than well enough to find success against questionable pitchers tonight.
Brian Anderson has cooled off quite a bit recently, recording a .222 average with a .250 slugging percentage and a .567 OPS over his last 10 games. He has posted only one extra-base hit with four RBIs over that span, as well. Anderson has also struggled with 29% hard hit and 59% ground ball rates to go along with an 89 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He has been a slightly better option against right-handed pitching, but he gets a tough matchup against Zack Wheeler tonight. In 2018, he held right-handed batters to a .212 average with a .286 slugging percentage and a .245 wOBA. Anderson is far from a dominant hitter, and he’ll need more than a hit and run/RBI with the added 0.5 fantasy points. In a tough matchup, I’ll take the under on a struggling hitter.
